- Editor's Notes
- [Letterhead of Imperial College of Engineering, Kobu-Dai-Gakko [in "Tokei," Japan]]. Received a pair of telephone apparatuses and three dozen incandescent lamps which TAE presented to the college. Showed them to some Senate members and "other high authorities of this country" (Japan], including the Minister of Public Works, "songs being transmitted by the telephone and the room lighted" by eight lamps. The show was successful--all those present were interested and nearly all the city newspapers covered the event, and TAE's "esteemed name was thus at once made familiar among our country people." Nearly every day since, some people have come to the college to see the "marvellous things." To show gratitude, the Minister of Public Works is preparing to present TAE some Japanese Articles.
