Title

[D8503ZEG], Legal Decision, New Jersey. Supreme Court, Edward W Scudder, December 4th, 1885

Editor's Notes

[Heading of New Jersey Supreme Court, November Term 1885, Seyfert vs. Edison.] Court order on a motion referred by Hon. Edward Scudder on behalf of Lucy Seyfert for an attachment against TAE for contempt of court in disobeying an order made by Scudder requiring TAE to appear and make discovery under oath before a Supreme Court Commissioner on Nov. 26, 2884. TAE filed cross motion to set aside this motion as well as a show cause motion also served upon him (requiring him to show cause as to why attachment should not issue against him) on grounds that both were served on him without jurisdiction of this court. Court finds for Seyfert--rules that service should be confirmed and TAE's motion to set orders aside denied, with costs, and that an attachment should issue against TAE for contempt of court for not appearing for examination as he was required to by the orders.
