[D8521G], Agreement, Bergmann & Co, Edison Electric Light Co, April 1885

Editor's Notes

Agreement between Bergmann & Co. and Edison Electric Light Company amending Sept. 1, 1884 contract. Adds a provision under which Bergmann & Co. agrees to only manufacture or supply fixtures, anything connected with the use of electricity for illumination, and sockets for the Light Co. and no-one else. The intention is to allow the Light Co. to control the sale of sockets and to keep Bergmann & Co. from being able to sell fixtures to the Light Co.'s competitors. This agreement also amends the original to allow the Light Co. to enter into an agreement with Sprague Railway and Motor Co. for the manufacture of motors and fan motors (the original agreement gave Bergmann the exclusive right to manufacture motors for the Light Co.).
