Title

[D8535O], Letter from Electric Tube Co to Deutsche Edison Gesellschaft, March 10th, 1885

Editor's Notes

In answer to your letter of Feb 14, we cabled you yesterday [quotes cable in German]. That is, we are willing to get up for you full and detailed information as to our method of manufacturing and laying the precautions taken and the reasons which have led to them: all drawings, tables, and samples necessary to completely illustrate the 2 and 3 conductor systems for the sum of $2500. In our offer of Jan. 29 ($2500 for either system), we included finished metal patterns for boxes, ball clamps, and joints. We are in doubt as to whether you clearly understood the terms. These are patterns which you would have received from us ready for immediate use in the foundries, and as they are numerous and costly, by omitting them from the list of articles to be supplied by us, we are enabled to make you the offer contained in this letter. If you decide to accept, we will be able to supply you more quickly what you immediately want if you will let us know which system you need first, as some of the drawings and all of the sample boxes will have to be made expressly for you.
