Title
[D8602B], Letter from Thomas Perman to Drexel Morgan & Co, January 2nd, 1886
Editor's Notes
I attended the meeting of the Indian and Colonial Co. on the 31st ult.; the disposition seemed to be to await the outcome of negotiations with the Australasian Co. before taking any voluntary steps toward liquidation.###Reduction of capital became law on 15th ult. when a certificate from the court was received.###Sent you a report and balance sheet.###If the negotiations work out, we can divide our cash and receive some bonus shares too, which will have market value if the co. succeeds; if the negotiations fail, we can still divide the cash among the stockholders; J.S. Morgan called you after my return from the meeting; Edison Indian meeting today, no movement toward liquidation.###send a copy of the report and inform TAE about the gist of this letter.
