- Editor's Notes
- [Enclosure/letter referred to in Doc. D8603G.] Referring to my letter of last Aug. 29 presented to you by Mr. Weir and to his interview with you, I take the opportunity of his return to NY to request him to see you again and urge upon you the necessity of your coming to an immediate settlement in the matter. Unless this is done, you will compel me to take proceedings both here and in America which your distinguished position and the impression that you wold be prepared to deal with the matter at once have hitherto made me think quite out of the pale of possibility. ##Weir, who [----] [----] my friends views properly before you has been requested by me to impress upon you that further delay cannot be listened to and if you are not prepared to effect a settlement with him, there will be no alternative but to enforce the repayment of the money you have received with interest together possibly with a claim for damages for breaches of your Agreement.
