[D8603ZBO1], Letter from William B W Howe, Jr., Savannah Florida and Western Railway Co to Thomas Alva Edison, May 29th, 1886
Editor's Notes
Referring to Cyclostyle Duplicating Apparatus. ##Will you kindly advise me, after reading the attached circular, whether there is anything about the Cyclostyle Duplicating Apparatus that infringes your patent upon the electric pen. I am using the latter device in this office, which was purchased from your authorized Agents, under advice from the Western Railroad Association. They write me that in your process of printing, the holes in the stencil are first filled with ink, the sheet is then placed under it, and the roller passed over--this is the process we are using. ##I have an application from an officer of the road to know whether he can use the Cyclostyle without infringing your patent, and you will confer a favor if you will advise me in the matter.
