- Editor's Notes
- [Letterhead of Utica Lodge, No. 33] Happy New Year! The report of the Managers of the State Lunatic Asylum of Utica (they are different men from our Aldermen) includes the following suggestions to the Legislature: [attached is a portion of a newspaper article concerning changing the lighting of the asylum from gas to electric lighting]. Your local system with incandescent lights is just the thing for the Asylum. Go for the Legislators! Go for the Board of Managers! P.V. Rogers, Cashier of Utica, is the President of the Board. Senator H.J. Coppenball[?] of this county is a good man in the Senate, very [-------] and eloquent. Our Assemblymen[?] are all quiet stupid humps[?]. Money could be saved by your system over gas. Hope you will get it.
