- Yours of the 11 inst to hand with Tomlinson's letter enclosed. I have furnished J. W. Howell with the carbons and lamps numbered as follows: [Short list of carbons and whether or not they were "treated"]. The above carbons according to numbers have been identified by me to Howell fully and Howell has a thorough knowledge of all the various operations that the carbons and carbons in lamps according to the above numbers describe have [paper?] through the duplicate--I shall retain here at Lamp Factory until I hear from you. [Added as postcript]: Howell will hand them to me some time on Fri. morning the 14th[?].
