Agreement between Machine Works and Sims [see Doc D8627J]. States that pursuant to certain contract between Sims and Lieut. Colonel Abbot on behalf of U.S.A. of June 30, 1885, Sims was to furnish five certain torpedoes to Abbot for which Sims is to receive $7,000 apiece. [Contract goes on to begin to describe agreement between Machine Works and Sims concerning the torpedoes, but is incomplete; it ends: "and whereas party of the first part [Machine Works] has been engaged in the manufacture of said Torpedoes and has completed two of the same and the party of the second part [Sims] is desirous"]
