Title
[D8630D], Letter from Frazar & Co to Francis Robbins Upton, Edison Lamp Co, January 7th, 1886
Editor's Notes
[Enclosure to Doc D8630C.] [Incomplete; at top, labeled as "Copy of a part of Frazar's letter of Jan. 7, 1886;" does not appear to be original.] They also desire to have it understood that the natives shall not be able to order direct from your co. here (over Frazar & Co heads) upon better or even close terms, but rather that they all shall be referred directly to them, F & Co, as your agents, as the competition is very keen for all manufactured articles in Japan and China. ##They ask for a special letter from the Edison Co on this subject, that they may feel their time will surely be well spent in working up their business. All enquiries to be referred to them, with assurance that they can sell as cheaply as in U.S. ##You might have TAE address a letter covering the above with extension of agency for another year or two; one to Yokohama, covering Japan and Korea, one to Shanghai covering China, the Phillipines and Straits ports in triplicate.
