Title
[D8630ZAE], Letter from Grace & Co (Chile), Willis N Stewart to Samuel Insull, April 17th, 1886
Editor's Notes
[Valparaiso] I have returned from my trip to the mines and sold a lot of machinery, etc., at a good price. I also secured a 25,000 subscription to the capital of our Valparaiso Co. and the influence of the strongest political man in Chile. ##In this order, we required 9 electric telephone sets, and W.R. Grace & Co. may come to TAE about the matter. We want McDonough[?] instruments if they can be had, and TAE may induce Eldred to send them. If not, perhaps Bergmann can get out a satisfactory instrument. The purchaser assumes all patent risks, but be sure not to involve yourselves. ##Our plans, etc., not yet arrived. How long, O Lord! How long? P.S. On this contract, I am to put 100 lamps in the largest copper mine in South America. It will be an interesting installation.
