Editor's Notes
[One-page letter from Berlin] Upton concerned that Siemens hurting Edison Co. in Germany. Spending money "liberally" to try to "beat" Siemens. Does not know how Siemens "treat[s]" German carbons; does not use furnace. According to Upton, Siemens makes lamps from "natural fibre," sells "16 c.p. lamps to take .55 amperes 100 volts to last 800 hours." [lamps]
