Title

[D8639O], Letter from S K Dingle to Thomas Alva Edison, June 4th, 1886

Editor's Notes

"Condensers all in"; On trip south Rudd says "was the best he has heard" since experiments began here; had usual train of 6 cars; bunched the roofs and wires together after trying them separately; get more from station that way, though adding roof wires does not seem to add more than 5%; work from station to train much more even; trip back not so good because of grounded dining car on end of train; made partial test of two coils--one on roofs, one on wires rigged to work with one key; grounded car presented a problem and tests halted when Rudd boarded train at Wadsworth to talk to Mr. Simpson about making trip with train dispatchers; "greatly encouraged at the result of past weeks work."
