- Title
- [D8701AAP], Letter from Sigmund Bergmann to Edward Hibberd Johnson, September 10th, 1887
- Editor's Notes
- Enclosure of foregoing (D8701AAO); notes that owing to an unequal contract with Edison Electric Light, Bergman & Co. is not able to take advantage of opportunities in the fixture business that would allow the company to "enormously increase our business . . . and double our dividends immediately." Company has refused $100,000 of orders stemming from failure of Mitchell, Vance & Co.; wants Johnson's views; scores of manufactures are now infringing on light patent but many would be willing to sign license with Bergman & Co. if contractual arrangement with Edison Light were changed.
