Title
[D8702AAQ], Letter from Dick (A.B.) Co to Alfred Ord Tate, July 29th, 1887
Editor's Notes
Have seen a new battery for electric light that might interest you; 20 cells of peculiar construction are required for one arc light of 1500 candle power; five more cells are needed to run two lights of the same power; and five more will run three lights of 1500 candle power each. "The light is as brilliant as any I have ever seen produced from a dynamo . . ."; are there any other batteries made for electric lighting, and if so, who makes them? How do the batteries you are making compare with the above? Jars for battery are three-gallon capacity containing five quarts; ran successfully for the first time yesterday; have you found out anything about the electric pen patent under contract with Western Electric.
