- Title
- [D8713ABP], Letter from Jeff Payne to Charles Batchelor, December 14th, 1887
- Editor's Notes
- [Letterhead: From the Laboratory of Thomas A. Edison] Egan called after dark; said all the hotels were full and he couldn't find accommodation so I put him up for the night; "Traces of recent libation was apparent but all present indications of indulgence were absent. He was nearly himself again. Please advise me my duty in a like case for the future." [This might be selectable as evidence of the habits of the workforce, in this case the presence of alcohol addiction.]
