Title

[D8719AAN], Letter from Edison Machine Works, Samuel Insull to Alfred Ord Tate, March 14th, 1887

Editor's Notes

I desire to get the Price Lists and lowest discounts for fine magnet wire for telegraph instruments, telegraph relays and resistance coils, manufactured by various dealers in this class of goods; if I apply for these prices direct, they will be sure to put them quite high, as they know we are covering wire. ## As Mr. Edison has been quite a considerable purchaser of this class of material in the past, I do not doubt but what you can get the information I desire if you write letters to the various manufactureres in his name; you can get the names of the manufactureres in some of the Electrical papers or else in some Electrical Directory. Alfred F. Moore, 200 N. Third St. Philadelphia and the American Electrical Works, Providence R.I. are the two principal manufactureres of this class of goods in the Country; the Western Electric Co. also cover this class of wire; if you write to thse parties it will probably be sufficient. ## You want to get their lowest price and best discounts for silk and cotton covered wire from No. 16 to No. 28 and in silk alone from No. 2[-] to No. 34."
