- "I have your favor of the 7th. Inst. Of course I very much prefer that Mr. Edison should discount the note at the Peoples Bank, as I carry a great deal of paper at the Germania Bank for account of the Machine Works. Alll that I am amxious for is that the proceeds should be used to pay off his small bills. Be very careful and see that you get this money and then pay off everything that you can with it."
