Title

[D8732ACC], Letter from John H Vail to Charles Batchelor, December 30th, 1887

Editor's Notes

"In reply to your favor of 29th instant, relative to 8 1/2 x 10 engine now placed at Bergmann & Company's factory. ## This is one of the older type of Armington & Sims engines and I submit to you the question whether it would not be more ot Mr. Edison's interests to sell this engine for a reasonable figure than to remove it and meet the expense of repairs which may be found necessary within a few months. ## I think Bergmann would be willing to pay, say $450.00 for the engine. ## I will leave the question between yourself and Bergmann and Company to settle. Marginalia by Charles Batchelor: "[-----] what do you think"
