- "We have sent to Mr. Beggs, bills against the Illuminating Col as follows:-- ## August 14th. $5,086.89 ## August 15th. 3,476.44 ## August 15th. 866.25 ## making a total of $9,429.56 ## It is important that I should get the whole of this money either some time to-morrow or early Saturday morning. When you obtain the money, please deposit it in the Germania Bank. If Chapman discounts the note you have got of the United Co., deposit the proceeds of same in the Eleventh Ward Bank. Mr. Kruesi will see you in the morning, and should you have any difficulty in getting a Cheque from Mr. Beggs, he will help you out." Marginalia: P.S.
