"The writer has been informed of your verbal agreement with Mr. Bergmann regarding the subscription to a certain number of shares of the capital stock of this Co., but in-as-much as Mr. Bergmann had forgotten the number that you were to take, I have been unable to notify you of the amount due on your assessments. Kindly advise me at your convenience whether it is five or ten shares, and I will then immediately mail you bill of assessments now due, and hold your stock ready for delivery pending the receipt of your check."
