Enclosed with D8739AAE. "We hereby propose and agree to wire premises known as the Edison Laboratory, locate at Orange, N.J., for the Edison of Incandescent Electric Lighting, according to the methods of this Company, and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the New York board of Fire Underwriters, for the sum of Eleven Hundred dollars, [$1,100] ## This proposition ois based upon wiring to necessary outlets for 481 lights to be distributed as per appended list. Moisture proof wire will be used throughout, [with the exception of outside lights,] and will be cleated or fastened to porcelain knobs, with the exception of the library where the wires will be enclosed in neat wood mouldings. All switches and cutouts are included, but sockets will be furnished by the owner. This contract does not include electroleers nor brackets. ## Terms of payment, cash on completion of this contract." Below the close of the letter: "EDISON WIRING CO. ## Gentlemen - ## I bereby accept your proposition as stated in the above. ## Respectfully yours, [no signature present] ## Dated . . . . 1887." The following three pages include tables detailing the parts to be used in the job described in the letter.
