- Editor's Notes
- "Please attend to the enclosed I sent the specimen he speaks to you before I left New York! ### I told you about the Gas Companies of Troy N.Y. writing me about a [unclear] and that I had given the letter to Johnson as I had nothing to do with Troy. To day the same letter reaches me to had been been referred to the McClements. McClements endorses on it and sends it back to Johnson now Johnson sends it back to me to know what I know about it when I told him at the time I gave him the letter I had nothing to do with it. This is a [unclear] on office I suppose Church thinks I ask a nice business man as he wanted an immediate answer. In order to clear yourself of such a want of business capacity I have written to Church from here telling I was and of the city and that I had no claims on Troy. ### I give you this confidentialy as I do not want to be mixed up with any of their squabbles." Yours Hix
