- [D8807AAJ], Letter from Addison B Burk, Philadelphia Public Ledger to Thomas Alva Edison, February 24th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- The Ledger would like to have an opportunity to buy the first commercial telephone put upon the market. I do not know whether it would be useful or not, but if we could get it in good [-----] I should write it up as a novelty and make it serve both of us a good turn in that way. Can I enlist your good offices in securing the first for the Ledger? If you have other papers that you want to give equal opportunities, I will respect any regulation you may make about date of publication so that the articles may appear simultaneously. # Please let me know what the price will be; to whom I shall address an order and when I may expect a phonograph. I have written this of my own accord and cannot give a specific order until I hear from you. TAE marg: Friend B: Will let you know when we are ready to supply."
