- Title
- [D8818ABN], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Francis Blake, Jr., January 21st, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- [typed] I have your letter of the 17th inst. I was very disappointed at not being able to attend the Merchants' Club Dinner due to my work.##In relation to the graphaphone, I might say that Mr. Bell had nothing to do with the instrument itself, which latter was the work of Mr. Taintor. Mr. Bell lent his name to the enterprise to, I presume, assist with the commercial side.
