- I have your letter 16th instant. You must not place too much dependence upon the [----]/Cheesebrough? Patent, for the reason, which you may not before have known, that the Edison Company in America have never used the flashing process and have always make a carbon filament pure and simple. The last test of the Edison lamp made in America in competition with the Edison-Swan lamp showed the former to have 3 63/100 better life and 8% more candle power after five hundred hours.
