- Title
- [D8818ATO], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Samuel Insull, September 22nd, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- I have assented to examination of the books of Edison Machine Works, Edison Lamp Co, and Bergmann & Co by McClement, as representing Villard, provided that I have a representative present at examination, for verifying or taking exception to McClement's report. I named you my representative, and suggest you enter into communication with McClement. Examination is to show the earning capacity of the shops above mentioned. # Inasmuch as it is Villard's intention, should the deal go through, to unite the shops with Edison Light Co, I desire you arrange with McClement an examination of the accounts of Edison [here hand-written letter begins as type went off page] Light Co so that you can post me thoroughly re the assets of that Company and its earning capacity.
