- Editor's Notes
- "I obtained to day from Prof. Edward L. Nichols, of Cornell University, th address of John C. Branner. He is now State Geologist of Arkansas, and his headquarters is at Little Rock, Arkansas. I have written to him regarding the large bamboo, and hope to have an answer shortly. I find mention of bamboo in his letter of Feb'y 3rd 1881; also in his letter of March 23rd '81 both of which I enclose to you. The monster bamboo is from the river plate as you will notice in his letter of Oct. 29th which I also enclose. There is also mention of bamboo in his letter of June 4th 1881 also enclosed. ### Kindly return these letters and oblige" Yours truly, Francis F. Upton per H.
