Title
[D8828AAZ], Letter from William Carman to Charles Batchelor, March 29th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Yours of Mar 27. In reply would say that the E.M.F. is 45 volts and the number of amperes 9 to 10. We have been using several kinds of Carbons and find the best for our style of lamp to be the Austrian cored Carbon sold by Holmes, Booth and Hayden. Although we get excellent results on our City Plant at Rahway from the Cleveland in Boulton. I will send you 50 or 100 of this Austrian cored Carbon which I ordered today if you say so. I am anxious the a good test be made and as the lamps have been laying around for 18 months. They must be some what out of order and I would suggest that we send one of our men who understands the lamp to put them in good shape for you at our expense as you can go ahead with them without the work of overhauling. If this meets your approval please write me on receipt of this my address is 44 Broadway N.Y." Respt yours Wm. Carman [Marginia: "John Ott" "Ans Mar 30/84"]
