- "I am surprised to find scarcily such a string as bamboo in the region of Pondisherry although put down for me as a locality for it. There is absolutely nothing in this action but a small variety of no value. I am told I must go west of the Western [unclear]. I will proceed tomorrow to the Mysone district. ### Very hot. Everything is incandescent. Experiment be [unclear] a few hours after they are laid the key yield [unclear]. ### Send letters and telegrams until Sept. to Bombay."
