- [D8828ACQ1], Letter from Francis Robbins Upton to Thomas Alva Edison, August 1st, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "With this is attached the expenses to date of the Fibre Expedition. You will note that the bill of expenses to date is $11,129.29. ### In addition to this there will be a probable expense of another $5000.00. ### It will require, as you see, a million and a half Fibres at one cent a piece to pay for this expense. It strikes me that Hannington is a terrible expensive man to send. We have a letter to-day which calls upon us to send $600.00 more to Hannington. ### I think it would be a fair estimate to consider that our Samples of Fibres, cost about $150.00 a piece."
