Title
[D8831ACL], Letter from William Dennis Marks to Edward Hibberd Johnson, December 22nd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I have looked at certificates and patents for mingling gas and air of the Rev. Gentelman and it would appear at first sight that he has taken a very round about way of doing a simple thing which however correct in principle will not prove commercially practicable and profitable and which could be very easily evaded under the patent law with exactly the same result. I have however said to him that if he will write to me I will give him a written reply and declined to express a verbal opinion. You shall know the result if I hear from him again. I am" Yours truly, Wm D. Marks [Johnson marginalias: "Edison On this I let the matter drop EHJ"]
