Title
[D8833AAM1], Letter from Francis Robbins Upton to Thomas Alva Edison, February 21st, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Regarding the center wiring in municipal lamps. ### We are not using iron wire tinned. We have some trouble withteh wire rusting after being sent out. The wires are boiled in linseed oil after receive them; this makes it difficult to make a sure joint at the bottom. We would like to know why it would not be possible to use some other non-oxydizable metal such as German Silver in place of iron wire. ### I do not know what is your reason for adopting iron wire and do not care to change until I hear from you."
