Title
[D8833AAP1], Letter from Francis Robbins Upton to Thomas Alva Edison, February 23rd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"We are desirous to making a small lamp for medical purposes which shall be the best made in the world. ### For this type of lamp we need a very fine fibre. We wish you would send us some fibre that you think is right. We now use a 6 x 6 bamboo, but feel that if we can get a round fibre smaller than this, we can bring up the resistance of the lamp, and make the clamping still easier than now." Yours truly, The Edison Lamp Co. by Francis R. Upton [Marginalia: "Write him that I can give him what is required. ### Tell John Ott that I want to make saphire dies to drawn down to .005 and to see me about it. Show me this letter every day"]
