Title
[D8845ABF], Letter from Brewer (Charles) & Co to Thomas Alva Edison, May 23rd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Referring to the conversation which the writer had with you yesterday uopn the subject of introducing your "Ore Milling Machine" into New Zealand, we desire to ask if you will give us the refusal of the exclusive right to that country for the period of four months from date, upon the terms stated by you which were as follows; a royalty of not less than fifteen cents per ton to be charged upon every ton of material passing through, of which you are to receive one third that is five cents per ton. ## We stated to you that we should require three months in which to communicate with our correspondent at New Zealand, but on further consideration we think we should be allowed a little more time, as our friend there may need more than the interval between the arrival of this mail and the departure of the next return mail. ### If you are disposed to accede to this request and will write us to that effect in confirmation thereof we shall be obliged." Yrs truly, Chas. Brewer & Co "We hope to see the photographs in tomorrows mail."
