"By instructions from Hon. Erastus Wiman, President, I have this day shipped you six (6) sacks of gold bearing sulphurets. The ore is from North Carolina, some where in the vicinity of Salisbury. If, however, after your treatment it may be deemed desirable by you to know the exact location from whence the ore was obtained, I can by correspondence procure the information, and shall be pleased to do so, if you will kindly advise me of your wishes in this matter. ### With the highest respect I have the honor to be" Your obedient servant, L.P.
