- Title
- [D8845AGQ], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, December 13th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 22nd ult. and enclose statement of account of advances made to Mr. Wiley and beg to say that I informed Mr. Dredge of your preference to have the orginal arrangements carried out as explained in your letter, and asked him if one would reimburse me the advances that I have already made. I shall, however, pending a further understanding- which appears from your letter will be necessary before he either reimburses me my advances, or makes further advances to Mr. Wiley-conform to your request and not make any advances. ### You will quite understand that what I originally did was only for the reasons given in the letter advising what I had done - which reasons, however, you do not consider to be of importance, and perhaps you are right. I had obviously no other interest in taking upon myself the inconvenience that would naturally result from my proposal."
