Title
[D8845AGQ], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, December 13th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 22nd ult. and enclose statement of account of advances made to Mr. Wiley and beg to say that I informed Mr. Dredge of your preference to have the orginal arrangements carried out as explained in your letter, and asked him if one would reimburse me the advances that I have already made. I shall, however, pending a further understanding- which appears from your letter will be necessary before he either reimburses me my advances, or makes further advances to Mr. Wiley-conform to your request and not make any advances. ### You will quite understand that what I originally did was only for the reasons given in the letter advising what I had done - which reasons, however, you do not consider to be of importance, and perhaps you are right. I had obviously no other interest in taking upon myself the inconvenience that would naturally result from my proposal."
