Title
[D8846ABH], Letter from Richard Nott Dyer to Alfred Ord Tate, August 18th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I enclose you a letter I have just received from Col. Gouraud. He admits himself that he has taken patent on the two previous cases in countries granting patents for short terms-that is less than fourteen years. The remark in his letter that he fails to understand the object of taking patents for only fourteen years, strikes me as being the height of audaciousness in view of the fact that this matter was fully explained to Col. Gouraud when he was here by myself and I think also by Mr. Edison because Mr. Edison told me that Col. Gouraud understood fully he was to take patents only for terms of fourteen years or longer. ### I send you this letter to take such action in the premises as you think best."
