Title
[D8847ACX], Letter from Edwin W Hine to Thomas Alva Edison, October 27th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Business of a political nature which is occupying the minds and time of so many of our citizens detained both Major Snyder and myself last night (although we labor in opposite political directions) until after you left the Armory. We both feel exceedingly sorry we were deprived the pleasure of meeting you and take this means of conveying you our regrets. The phonograph you so kindly exhibited for our benefit proved a marked attraction and has been very much appreciated and of financial aid to our efforts. We wish to express our sincered gratitude to you for this generous and kindly act, not only our grateful acknowledgement but that of our board of officers, the [unclear] and the committees having in charge the management of the fair. We shall esteem your favor ever." Very truly yours, Edwin Hine
