- Title
- [D8848AFB], Letter from Jesse H Lippincott to Thomas Alva Edison, December 8th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "The Medelssohn Club of this city, which comprises some of the very best people here, wish to obtain a Phonograph for the night of the 18th, to give an exhibition before their club. ### They want it so they can make a record of about forty voices. Will you be willing to let the professor, or whoever understand making a recording of that kind, come over here, bringing his Phonograph and receiving apparatus with him on the afternoon of the 18th? He can return to the Laboratory the next morning. ### If you will do this, the club will gladly pay the expenses in connection with it. ### Please let me hear from you as early as possible in the week." Very truly yours, Jesse H. Lippincott
