Title
[D8848AFK], Letter from Charles Augustus Cheever to Alfred Ord Tate, December 28th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Mr. Toppan has just been in here, and I found he has not heard of the proposed visit of the principal members of the Metropolitan and New England Phonograph Companies, to the Edison Works to-morrow. ### The party will consist of 25 or 30 of the most prominent Bankers and Lawyers in New York, such as members of the firms of Drexel, Morgan & Co., Winslow & Lanier, Brayton, Ives & Co., Edward Sweet & Co., Belmong, Brown Bros., H.B. Hollins & Co., U.S. Trust Co., &c. &c. ### I am very anxious that everything should go off satisfactorily Mr. Toppan suggested that possibly Mr. Bachelor might not know of our coming, and it would be well for me to write to you asking that he be informed. We expect to take the 1-30 train. I shall send some one out in advance of the train to arrange for conveyances." [Marginalia: "O.K." ]
