Title
[D8849ACY], Letter from George Frederick Barker to Thomas Alva Edison, December 7th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Thanks for your letter of Nov. 30th concerning the phonograph. I sent it to the Provost and he expressed the hope that the matter might be decided speedily as the situation of our affairs in Turkey so far as the grant is concerned is critical. Surely Col. Gouraud would not object to your presenting an instrument to the Sultan. Of course if you desire us to give you any sort of a guarantee we will directfully [?] do so. ### I send you a little bill I have just received from the Talon Press for the extra copies of your papers read before the American Association in the summer of 1887. I gave you the copies you will remember and the bil with them a long tie ago. Will you send your check to them in payment?" Cordially yours, George F. Barker [Marginalia: "Ans Dec 17/88"]
