- [D8850ACG], Letter from George Edward Gouraud, August 2nd, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- Circular letter: "Colonel Gouruad presents his compliments to the President and Council of the [blank] and begs to say that it will afford him very great pleasure and honour to place mr. Edison's Phonograph at their disposal, should they so desire, at the rooms of the Society, some afternoon or evening to be arranged. ### Mr. Edison has for this purpose sent a spcial device, by means of which the sounds emitted may be rendered audible to a somewhat numerous company, when so required. ### While an early arrangement as to date is suggested, one admitting of as much notice as possible would be more convenient, no doubt mutually so." Upper Norwood S.E. ### 2nd August 1888. [Marginalia: "Sent to all the London [unclear]"]
