Title

[D8855ABL1], Letter from Arthur Edwin Kennelly to Thomas Alva Edison, August 23rd, 1888

Editor's Notes

"The following are the observations we have just taken on Mr. F. Ott's model motor:-- ### Battery 1 Grenet cell (smaller size) 5% Hg Zinc allowy best solution ### [chart of volts on motor terminals, amperes, and watts in motor for 8 different tasks] ### We expected to find less current with the greater voltages but we found the current practically constant. We supposed after checking the Galvanometer reading that this must be due to the effect of governing and also to the shunt magnet circuit reducing the advantage of counter e.m.f." PS: "We are now going to see how long the all will keep the motor running to specs"
