- Editor's Notes
- I beg to report upon the Gassner dry battery we have tested. It is nearly but not quite so good as a Lalande(?) cell of equal dimensions, I see that this is the same result as other observers have found for it. It is very portable, compact, and clean. Where bellringing(?) and light discontinuous work is required it is well suited for adoption, but is in no way qualified for the production of electrical power. It has therefore quite a useful and extensive field to supply but can hardly be said to be the very best ever in that line. Its convenience is its best quality, and power cannot be expected from it.
