Title
[D8912AAN], Letter from New York Telegraph Club, Edward T White to Thomas Alva Edison, July 17th, 1889
Editor's Notes
About five months ago the Telegraphers of NY and Vicinity organized a club viz "The New York Telegraph Club." It originally had but 9 members at present it has 178. We have a suite of rooms at 48 Church St and have them very nicely furnished. We are desirous of having you at your convenience call upon us, and honor our infant club with your presence. # We have a large number of distinguished people on our Roll Call, as you will see by both enclosure and by "Electric Age" which I will mail you, I understand the governing committee spoke of electing you an honorary member of "The New York Telegraph Club." Any time you find it convenient to give us a call and at last admire a change in telegraphic circles from those of some years ago, and will drop me a line or address Holbrook 48 Church St, we would deem it an honor, and refresh some earlier days of telegraphy. [TAE marginalia: Will try and call after return Europe - would consider it great honor to be elected a member]
