Title
[D8912ABS], Letter from American Institute of Mining Engineers, Rossiter Worthington Raymond to Thomas Alva Edison, December 26th, 1889
Editor's Notes
The next meeting of the institute will be held, as you are aware, at Washington D.C.. I hope you will be able to be present, and I need not say that anything you might present in the line of a paper would be most welcome. # Whether that would be fi[--]ith or not, could you not arrange to have a phonograph at the meeting, with a few appropriate remarks from you in its little insides? Have you got any good instruments in Washington now that could be relied on to do [------] to a company of say 100 or 150? # The meeting with begin Feby 18, and there will be a subscription banquet on the evening of the 20th or 21st (can let you know the precise date in a few days). I want a machine to reply from you, when you are toasted in a speech about 15 minutes long. It should be a surprise. Can you arrange it?
