[D8940AAK], Letter from Cornelius J Field to Thomas Alva Edison, January 11th, 1889

Editor's Notes

Dr Sir:-- At Mr. Chinnock's suggestion, I enclose you ehrewith a copy of the report of a test we have recently made on an Edison plant we installed at Buffalo, in a large dry goods store there. The architect, as well as his expert representative, when we started in were both strong United States men; but as a result of the installation of this plant, and the test thereof, we can confidently say that they have been converted to the advantages and superiority of the Edison system. I think that the report has some data of quite recent date, that will no doubt prove of interest to you, particularly in regard to the use of compound dynamos in multiple arc, and also their regulation, and the results of tests in regard to lamps fulfilling the guarantee made for them.####If you have time at any time, and I am not troubling you too much, I would be glad to receive an expression of opinion from you in regard to it.####Yours very truly####C.J. Field###Chief Engineer####[name mentions: Thos Edison, Charles Chinnock, C.J. Field]
