Title
[D8941AAA], Letter from William T Mottram to Thomas Alva Edison, January 13th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Dear Sir, I have come to New York from Texas to meet an English capitalist with a view to forming a company to exploit the Edison system in Mexico. As I am almost a stranger to the gentlemen it would be of greater value to me to have from you some recognition of the seven years' work. I have done in the Edison System, over your own signature. You will probably remember that I have had the good fortune to be a chamption of the direct system, having come in contact with the alternating system from the beginning in Europe, and later at New Orleans.##I shall highly appreciate it, if you can give me a personal endorsement as an electrical engineer, as I desire to use the same as an evidential, your name being so well known. My man leaves early Wednesday morning for London, and I would like, if possible, to have your letter in time to hand to him on Tuesday, the 15th inst. Yours faithfully Mr. W.T Mottram <TAE marginalia: Tell Motram get the letter from Vail & I will inclose it]>
